Geografie

Kalinzi ist ein ländlicher Bezirk in der Seezone im Nordwesten von Tansania etwa 40 Kilometer Luftlinie nördlich der Regionshauptstadt Kigoma.cite-ref-2[2] Bei der Volkszählung 2022 lebten 21.904 Menschen in 3992 Haushaltencite-ref-3[3] auf einer Fläche von 102 Quadratkilometern.cite-ref-4[4]

Der Bezirk grenzt im Osten und im Südosten an den Distrikt Buhigwe und sonst an vier Bezirke des Distrikts Kigoma:cite-ref-0-5-0[5]

Gliederung

Der Bezirk besteht aus drei Gemeinden (swahili Mtaa) mit 25 Orten (Kitongoji):cite-ref-6[6]

Infrastruktur

• Bildung: In Kalinzi befinden sich drei weiterführende Schulen.cite-ref-7[7] Die Kalinzi Secondary Schoolcite-ref-8[8], die Matyazo Secondary Schoolcite-ref-9[9] und die Mkabogo Secondary Schoolcite-ref-10[10] sind alle staatliche Schulen für Mädchen und Burschen mit einer Ausbildung bis zur 4. Stufe.
• Gesundheit: In der Gemeinde Kalinzi befinden sich ein staatliches Gesundheitszentrum,cite-ref-11[11] eine privatecite-ref-12[12] und eine staatliche Apotheke;cite-ref-13[13] in Matyazo gibt es ein von der anglikanischen Kirche geführtes Gesundheitszentrumcite-ref-14[14] und in Mkabogo eine staatliche Apotheke.cite-ref-15[15]
• Straße: Durch den Bezirk verläuft die asphaltierte Nationalstraße T19 von Kigoma nach Burundi.cite-ref-16[16]
